Hi, I’m Amanda Brown, MPH. I earned my Biology degree from Sierra Nevada College and later completed my Master of Public Health at UNR. I first stepped into public health as a student with the UNR School of Medicine’s Office of Statewide Initiatives, spending time in rural Nevada promoting vaccines and gaining a clear understanding of the role community outreach plays in improving health. That work naturally led to my current role as an Outreach and Technical Assistance Coordinator. I support rural EMS agencies across the state, focusing on recruitment, retention, training, and long-term sustainability through the Flex EMS Supplemental grant. I also lead the annual Nevada EMS Survey to better understand statewide EMS capacity and needs, along with other community and needs assessments for rural areas.
